Washington D.C. Internship

Illinois State University has established a student internship program in Washington D.C. Opportunities for participation exist for students from all academic majors and both the Undergraduate and Graduate levels.

The purpose of this program is to enhance the educational experiences of selected ISU students by providing them with the opportunity to work in Washington D.C. for an entire semester or summer. Possible placements are with members of the Illinois Congressional Delegation on Capitol Hill, with Federal Agencies, or Professional Organizations associated with their field of study or interest.

During the summer of 2011, the College of Applied Science and Technology (CAST) led an effort to provide $5,000 scholarships each to three of their students. All three students are spending the entire summer working for professional associations directly associated with their fields of study. The students are from construction management, safety and renewable energy. Planning is underway to expand this program to other Departments and Colleges around the University in future years.
