Over the past decade, Research and Sponsored Programs has worked with faculty members, departments/schools, and colleges to develop a set of 10-12 Federal Initiative projects to submit to our Congressional Delegation for possible funding. Historically, this process has generated approximately $1 Million in funding annually. With changes to the appropriation structure, the process has shifted from requests for funding to requesting support for projects through the competitive process. It is very important that the Congressional delegation be made aware of the outstanding collaborative projects that are being developed and implemented at ISU. This process provides a mechanism for showcasing the faculty and University as well as generating support for projects through the Federal agencies.
