The Government Relations Office in Research and Sponsored Programs serves as the liason to offices and agencies of the U.S. government. The office coordinates governmental policy development and works to promote the University as a resource to government officials. The office also assists faculty and staff in identifying opportunities and securing federal funding by monitoring new grants as they become available as well as working with faculty once they have identified a grant to connect them with federal agencies to better their chances of a successful submission. Ultimately, the Government Relations Office works to increase the University's visibility at the national level.
The office is also responsible for the administration of the Washington D.C. Summer Internship Program.
