Funding

There are a number of grant tools available to Illinois State University researchers finding funding. Find internal and external support and take your project to the next level. A concept paper can help in identifying funders.

Grants and Funding

  • Federal Grants

Federal funding agencies generally provide the most stable source of external funding for researchers at the University. Use Grants.gov and Fed Biz Opps as the two resources for federal grants.

  • State Grants

The Illinois Catalog of State Financial Assistance provides State financial assistance program information. This site provides a list of agencies that have active grant programs, currently funded grant programs, and a list of current funding opportunities.

  • Foundation Funding

Philanthropy News Digest is a resource for finding foundation funding. Foundations make grants to support education, science, literature, and culture.

Internal Grants

Illinois State offers different forms of internal grants to support and recognize faculty efforts. These opportunities apply to all forms of research including traditional research, creativity, and expression.
